Winter is a season filled with unique delights for the residents of Saranac Lake. Not only do we have all kinds of skiing, snowshoeing and skating opportunities, but also every year, we celebrate winter with a spectacular Winter Carnival. The hallmark of this event is the stunning ice palace, and an amazing fireworks display.  The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival has been a beloved tradition since 1897 and continues to draw visitors from far and wide to revel in the beauty and camaraderie of the winter season. The sight of the magnificent ice castle, adorned with colorful lights, serves as a reminder of the joy and wonder that winter brings.
