Saranac Lake is known for its vibrant arts community, including visual artists of all kinds—painters, photographers, filmmakers, ceramicists, jewelers, printmakers, sculptors and more. The Village boasts a number of art galleries and teaching studios, as well as regular downtown Art Walks and regional studio tours. Plein air painters can often be spotted around town or among the surrounding mountains and lakes, capturing the natural beauty of the Adirondacks. The worn-out paintbrushes in this panel have all been used by local professional or student artists to create some of the inspiring variety of high-quality art to be found here.
